Five Madurese families are living together in a decrepit colonial building in the Old Town area of Surabaya. Most of them work as hawkers selling mung bean and shaved ice dessert. Every midday, one of the children goes to buy some ice blocks but the ice always ends up fully melted, since she loves to wander around the market and the alleys of the Old Town, before finally giving the ice blocks to her mother who sells the dessert at Jalan Panggung.
